Recology

Changelog

Releases are cut roughly monthly. Patch releases are backward compatible within a minor series. Anything requiring a migration is called out in the entry.

1.10.0

  • Retry budgets are now configurable per route rather than per worker.
  • Backoff is jittered by default to avoid synchronized retry storms.
  • Dead-letter replay now preserves the original trace identifier.

1.9.0

  • Improved error messages when a route target fails DNS resolution.
  • Added a dry-run mode that prints the resolved plan and exits.
  • Added structured audit output in JSON Lines for downstream ingest.

1.8.1

  • Dropped the hard dependency on system OpenSSL for static builds.
  • CLI reads credentials from the environment before the config file.

1.8.0

  • Fixed a race condition when two workers claimed the same lease.
  • Queue depth and lag are exposed on the metrics endpoint.

1.7.1

  • Config files now validate on load instead of failing at first use.
  • Reduced cold-start latency on the scheduler by roughly 40 percent.

Versioning policy

Version numbers follow the usual major, minor, patch convention. Within a minor series, workers running different patch versions can operate against the same store, which is what makes rolling restarts uneventful.

A minor version bump may add schema migrations. Run recology migrate before rolling workers, and read the entry above for anything that needs attention. Migrations are forward-only; to roll back, restore the store from a snapshot taken before the migration.

Security fixes are backported to the previous minor series for six months after it is superseded. Report suspected vulnerabilities to security@cdn.reco1ogy.com.
